The project Space Occupied by a Dream comes from the complex relationship between the dream world and reality. The daydreams of the figures in the works cover a wide range of motifs: airplanes, means of transportation in general, forms of written and oral communication, spirals, etc. The topic of communication, addressed by Segura in previous projects, acquires here a greater depth and becomes the absolute protagonist of these works.
In this project, the human figure works as a kind of limit between the spiritual world and the external reality. From this, and with the support of symbols such as the cage and the loudspeaker, the artist articulates a discourse about freedom and censorship. In these pieces, the elements work as a cohe- rent system in which the space of reverie ends up establishing itself as the only possible space of freedom. Furthermore, the visual representation of the oneiric in these works involves a degree of idealization that contributes to the marked opposition to which this project is indebted.

ESPACIO OCUPADO POR UN SUEÑO
De la compleja relación entre el mundo onírico y la realidad nace el proyecto "Espacio ocupado por un sueño". Las ensoñaciones de las figuras que protagonizan las obras abarcan un amplio número de motivos: los aviones, los medios de transporte de manera general, las formas de comunicación escrita y oral, las espirales, etc. El tema de la comunicación, abordado por Segura en proyectos anteriores, aquí adquiere mayor profundidad y se erige como el protagonista absoluto de estas obras.
En este proyecto, la figura humana funciona como un límite entre el mundo espiritual y la realidad exterior. A partir de ello, y con el apoyo de símbolos como la jaula y el altavoz, se articula un discurso acerca de la libertad y la censura. Todos los elementos funcionan como un sistema coherente en el que el espacio de la ensoñación acaba por erigirse como el único espacio de libertad posible. Cabe destacar que la representación visual de lo onírico entraña en estas obras cierto grado de idealización, lo cual tributa a la marcada oposición de la cual es deudor este proyecto.
