HUNTING

Hunting is a tribute to Marcel Duchamp and, in general, to Conceptualism. These pieces are closely related to the notion of readymade, as the artistic procedure is to take objects and to move them out of their usual context of reception, and to end up acquiring a new significant potential. The de-automatization that arises as a result of this methodology allows the objects, whose function has been annulled, to articulate new networks of meanings, which connect with the political and social context, as well as with lines of research previously addressed by the artist. In this sense, the fact that each object is the bearer of a specific history, as evidenced in the peculiarities of each one, in the traces of the passage of time, and in the anachronism of many of them, is no less attestable.

As in Space Occupied by a Dream, the topic of communication, and the lack thereof, is one of the main thematic concerns of the project. Thus, the motif of the cage is repeated and reformulated, now moving away from the anthropomorphic and focusing exclusively on the objectual universe.

CACERÍA

Cacería es, como proyecto, un homenaje a Marcel Duchamp y, de manera general, al Conceptualismo. Las piezas beben de la noción de ready-made, al tomar objetos que, sacados de su contexto habitual de recepción, adquieren un nuevo potencial significante. La desautomatización que surge como resultado de este procedimiento artístico permite que los objetos, cuya función ha sido anulada, articulen nuevas redes de significados que conectan con el contexto político-social, así como con líneas de investigación anteriormente abordadas por el artista. En ese sentido, no resulta menos atendible el hecho de que cada objeto es portador de una historia específica, así se evidencia en las peculiaridades de cada uno, en las huellas del paso del tiempo y en lo anacrónico de muchos de ellos.

Al igual que en Espacio ocupado por un sueño, el tema de la comunicación y la incomunicación constituye una de las principales preocupaciones del proyecto. Así pues, el motivo de la jaula se repite y se reformula, ahora alejado de lo antropomórfico y exclusivamente concentrado en el universo objetual. La propia elección de los objetos provoca una pregunta y una reacción.
